Can Design
For this project, I decided to design a skin care box for a vitamin C cream. I wanted to make it look like the mini juice cartons you would’ve gotten at school in the 2000’s.
I wanted the branding to have a playful feel and be something people would gravitate towards if it was on the shelf in a store like Sephora.
During the process, I created my template and graphics in Illustrator and made multiple mock-ups to see how it was looking and get a better feel for how I should continue designing.
For this set of cans, I wanted to design a collection of sodas similar to something like an Olipop or Poppi. I made sure they were colorful and would have good shelf appeal if they were to have been made real. I went with a variety of flavors, each with a corresponding color to make them stand out amongst each other.
I started off with the flowing lines in the back to draw attention all over the can. I made sure to leave some spacing between the text and the lines so they stand out and have space to breathe. I then sprinkled the fruits on the can almost as if they’re floating in a drink to complete my design.

Can Design
For this can design, I wanted to do a metal-themed design and was inspired by bands like Motionless in White. It ended up taking on a more gothic metal feel with elements like the font choice.
I started off sketching out the different elements of the can that needed to be included (the nutrition label, can size at the bottom, etc) and then added in the central figure.
The figure started out as just a sketch concept but ended up verbatim on the can as it looked in the sketch because it just fit the overall vibe perfectly as it was.
Since the design was inspired by the music I was listening to, I included a few subtle nods to that in my final piece. I made the calorie count for the drink the area code of where the band was from, and since the drink is not real and can’t actually be purchased the QR code will take you to a music video when scanned instead.
